BabyPenguin (“we”, “us”, “our”) is a parenting app that helps parents, co-parents, and babysitters track a baby or expected baby’s feeding, sleep, diapers, growth, health, and milestones. This policy describes how we handle information when you use our website (babypenguin.app) or our iOS/Android apps (together, the “Service”).
BabyPenguin is intended for use by adults managing information about their own children or children in their care — it is not directed at, marketed to, or knowingly used by children.
Account information. Name and email address, collected via our authentication provider (Clerk) when you sign up, plus an optional username and, if you sign in with a password, a securely hashed password Clerk manages on our behalf — we never see or store your raw password.
Baby & family information you enter. Baby names, birth dates, gender, and the logs you or your family create: feeding, sleep, diaper, growth, temperature, medication, vaccine, mood, milestone, note, and to-do entries. This can include health-adjacent information (e.g. temperatures, medication doses, vaccine dates).
Photos. If you upload a photo (e.g. a baby’s avatar or a milestone photo), it’s stored with our cloud storage provider (Amazon S3). Preset avatar/background images in the mobile app don’t involve any upload.
Payment information. If you upgrade to Premium, payment is handled entirely by Stripe (web) or Apple’s App Store via RevenueCat (iOS) — we never receive or store your card number.
Usage & device information. Basic technical data (like sign-in timestamps) needed to operate and secure the Service.
We do not sell your data, and we do not use your family’s data to train AI models.
We share data only with the service providers that help us run BabyPenguin, and with the people you explicitly invite into your family:
We don’t share your data with advertisers, and we don’t sell it to anyone.
BabyPenguin is a tool for parents and caregivers to record information about their children — it is not a service offered to or used by children themselves, and we don’t knowingly collect information directly from children. Baby profiles are created and controlled by the adult account holder, who is responsible for the accuracy and appropriateness of what they log.
We keep your data for as long as your account is active. You can delete a baby profile, individual logs, or your entire account at any time from within the app; deleting your account permanently removes your login and every baby profile you created, along with all associated logs and photos. This action can’t be undone.
We use industry-standard safeguards — encrypted connections (HTTPS), access-controlled infrastructure, and authentication handled by Clerk — to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your data using commercially reasonable measures.
You can access, edit, or delete most of your data directly in the app. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights over your personal data (such as requesting a copy of it, or its deletion). Contact us at support@babypenguin.app to exercise these rights.
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we’ll update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
